Opus 2025-131: One of a Pair

We have at least three couples in our small church that struggle with one spouse of diminishing mental capacity.  It may be that I just don’t get out much but it seems to me that in all the couples that I know of one of them is having mental problems and the other one seems to be relatively normal.  We have Alzheimer’s on one side and the other is doing their best to take care of them.  We have another with a condition with a fancy name and her husband works to keep her at home.   You can have dementia matched up with someone who is clearheaded.

It could be there is some chemistry going on.  Another thought is one person is sucking the clarity out of the other.  Maybe the pressure of necessity keeps one sharp.

I often wonder which one has the harder life.
