Opus 2024-097: Cosmic Chortles

Does God have a sense of humor?  I believe he does.  If he didn’t have a sense of humor, he might have to throw a lot more lightning bolts.

We have all seen video of the cat that comes rushing around a corner onto a waxed floor.  Or how about the cat thinking it is being cute and rolling off the bed onto the floor.  Don’t forget the human world.  I remember when I was first married and I took a tumble down some narrow stairs in our new apartment.  Did I get sympathy?  No, but my wife laughed so hard I thought I was going to need to call 911.  We all know what it’s like to see a child do something really stupid and come to us crying.  One part of us is full of sympathy, empathy and support.  Inside we are laughing our heads off.  I think maybe God does that.

Can you see if God wasn’t able to laugh at how stupid we are He sometimes might be forced to be angry, and His wrath is not something we want to face.  Enjoy the farce of your life.  Show your kid how to skateboard.  Sure, go ahead and argue that obscure doctrinal point.  You may fall on your face both ways but God will enjoy the show.
