I must confess that I am amazed at the number of people who resist the truths found in the Bible. It is like they refuse to read or believe what seems logical. Or they may be members in a cult that teaches foolishness and they look at it with awe. I have a friend I am in constant dialogue with. It doesn’t matter how many times I point out inconsistency, inaccuracy or lack of logic. He might even half-way agree with me but he always recovers. I imagine he might say the same things about me.
This experience has made me a bit more insightful on the woke among us. They have that same ability to get glassy eyed in the presence of what they don’t want to hear. They can ignore facts. They can even say that facts don’t matter. The thing that matters is the narrative and they must stay true to the path.
It makes no sense. It is frustrating. It is the way it is.
Because of this I have strong doubts that most people will be open to the gospel, ever. In the same way I think there are masses who believe that both hot weather and cold weather are evidence of global warming. They believe that green energy is the hope of the future. They think socialism works, and that is as logical as expecting a drinking cup made out of toilet paper to work.
Make it a habit to listen. It is possible that we are the ones who are wrong. I doubt it, but truth can stand up to just about anything if we are willing to pursue it. Pray for a million roads to Damascus and be willing to be one that is bowled over.
