Today I am going to a funeral. I am expecting to possibly shed a few quiet tears over the death of a man I hardly knew. The tears will not be for him or for me. They will be for the empty spot beside his son on the pew next Sunday.
They will be tears of joy. If you don’t understand that then you need to get more serious about who Jesus is and the hope that we have in Him. I am at the age where the second shoe could drop and they will call for the cremation team. I hate to tell you, but so are you. It doesn’t matter how old you are. I hope to be taken by surprise.
I am ready. So was he. I find myself smiling.
