Opus 2022-068: Don’t Join, Be the Resistance

How do we resist the anti-American pressures.  They are so omnipresent.

The Communist Manifesto has suggestions.  Marx laid out his framework for destroying liberty in the world.  This can be a tremendous help for us today.  It works the same way I found the recommendations of the California Teachers’ Association every election.  I would consider what they recommended and vote the opposite.  So take the things that Marx felt needed to be destroyed and work on making them strong.  

I would suggest again that you read the Communist Manifesto.  You can download it free from The Gutenberg Project.  Unlike Das Kapital which is awkward, plodding and not worth the effort, the Manifesto is well written and easy to understand.

Marx points out things that the Communists want to destroy.  One of the big ones is the family.  

Private property is terrible.  

I don’t know how you do any of this if you are not a person of faith.  What do you believe in if you don’t believe there is something outside.  I guess you could believe in the Party or the State as it warns about in 1984.  But that means being a believer in destroying yourself.  Believing in something above you, might I suggest God Almighty, and conceding your minority status is the best way to preserve your liberty.

The Paradox of America is that by being for individual rights we benefit the whole.  If you believe in the concept of individual rights it comes with the baggage of others also having individual rights.  In order to verify yours you must acknowledge theirs.  Under Communism there is only the rights of the state and what it decides you need.  What you need changes with the wind.  It comes down to who has the biggest muscles and the quickest sword, just like it was in the world of Conan the Barbarian.

We need to become the resistance with a two edged approach.  First, demand your rights starting with being treated as a human being with a certain dignity.  If anyone starts throwing the current woke salad at you, reject their position and tell them they are wrong.  Second, be willing to allow others the same freedom you expect.

In reality I think most of us are already doing the second so what we need to practice on is standing up for ourselves.  Remember it isn’t just you on the line but your children and grandchildren.  A good place to say, “Do it for the children.”
