Opus 2022-358: The March of the Nanobots

Some scientists have a vision for nanobots that will course through our bodies attacking cancers and other dangerous invaders.  They have been a part of science fiction for years.

I have good news.  Those nanobots have been around since man left the garden of Eden.  They are called white blood cells.  We also have cells that custom make antibodies to counteract infections.  There are other tools that I can’t remember but they are already on the job.

When you think of the number of nanobots needed to do the same job think of a very fine sand being poured into your blood stream.  I am not sure that they could be made small enough to keep from clogging your arteries.  And then what would happen when people who don’t like you learned to send them a message to start dancing in your right eyeball?

Science loves to speculates and make promises.  Keep in mind that most breakthroughs come as an accident or a side effect.  And most do not come from the research labs.  When we do have the big breakthrough in fusion power it may come from someone’s garage or be a device that was designed to slice salami.

Just as likely it will be a breakthrough in cheap, clean energy that has nothing to do with nuclear at all.

Stick around.  If we survive the deep state it will be an interesting adventure.
