The cold weather of Texas has brought a bit of nostalgia. For reasons no one has been able to explain my bedroom does not respond to the heating or AC as well as the rest of the house. During cold spells I throw something on top of the bed for an extra layer of warmth. I have been using what I think is called an Afghan. It was made years ago by my mother in law. She made it extra long to accommodate me. Most people I know try to find ways to get rid of them but I have held on to it.
It makes the difference between a comfy night and the shivers. It is also a good way to remember her and count the blessings of heritage.

Some folks follow the crowd instead of common sense and Afghans just weren't "cool."
ReplyDeleteAs a kid I never had the latest styles until they showed up at the thrift store.
