One of the sites I visit fairly regularly is The Next Chapter. I have been reading what Zack has to say for years. I got started with some of the reviews he did about firearms that were not on the Newest and Coolest list. Imagine my shock when I clicked the other day and Big Brother warned me that I was heading into a place that might be outside of my safe space.
I never knew that Zack was so dangerous to my feelings.
It was called a “Sensitive Content Warning”. I felt warm fuzzies all over as I realized that Google cared about me and my feelings. Since I am usually not confused with a person who is “sensitive” I need warnings like this to teach me how to live. It is for my own good.
If you have strong character, not too sensitive, and would like to check out some great reviews I offer this up as a suggestion.
I wonder if I will ever have them care about you enough to warn you off of my site.

That warning is preemptive on my part. The "sensitivity warning" is a blogger option that Google has long recommended / implied should be on the "edgier" blogs. Since we are in an era of ‘cancel culture’ with everybody being offended by everything I decided it would be prudent for me to flip that optional switch and activate that canned warning. The way I read the policy (which I no longer can find online so Google may be rewriting it) I now can do whatever I want short of violations of federal law(s) that also may be in the process of being rewritten.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention! I much appreciate you stopping by.
Zack
This could be like the signs people put up in front of their house about security systems. I may have to go back read some of the fine print.
