Opus 2020-217: The Coming Diaspora

I was reading an article at Musings of an Old Curmudgeon which was linked by Free North Carolina.  It was about the difficulty of New York City recovering from the current crisis.

Toward the end he brought up the issue of bandwidth.  He explained how the internet connections are now so fast that there is no reason to fly across the country for a meeting.  Products like Zoom will bring it to you.  This is allowing people to live where they want and still be employed.  That is the good news.

The bad news is that these people can live where they want and still be employed and vote in local elections.  What we are going to see it a liberal Diaspora.  Up until this time the Progressives* have been clustered in the blue cities in the blue states.  Now they will be spread out to bring the liberal virus to a community near you.  I thought I was safe in Texas.  I joke about all the Californians moving in.  It is not a joke any more.  If they can work in their country estate outside Austin and make the same money then they can throw their vote to elect people like Beto and Biden. 

We need to pray that New York recovers.  I don’t really care about NYC but I do care about the rest of the country that New Yorkers will be dragging down.
