Recently my son suggested we go to a local gun show. It sounded good to me but I was concerned about going to a large event and returning to a house with a newborn inside. My daughter was comfortable with it as long as I washed my hands and clothes when I got back.
We need to go to the gun shows of life. The real threat of the Chinavirus is the same threat that terrorism brings. The danger is not that a few people might die. People die every day of many causes, most of which could have been prevented. The concern should be that we change our way of living in such a way that our way of life is destroyed. If we stop going to baseball games because we might catch something that strangely resembles the flew then we are on our way toward collapse as a culture. I am not buying that this is a Chinese conspiracy. That is total conjecture based on a need to increase readership. It is enough that it is a virus. New viruses come along on a regular pace. If we stop life every time something comes along we might deserve the results.
I will continue to go to church. I will still shop at the grocery store. I assume family members will still want to go out to eat. I will still talk to my neighbors. The reason I will not be going to a baseball game is because I would not have gone before the Chinavirus. I will go about life.
Of course I will also wash my hands but that is something we all need to learn to do better anyway.
