Opus 2018-311: The Traditional Greeting

Merry Christmas.  Today is the day the western church set aside to commemorate the incarnation, the birth of Jesus, the promised Jewish Messiah.
(Luke 2:10-11 KJV)  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Most of the activities that have come to be a part of Christmas are traditions added by men.  That is why we need to pause and acknowledge that the reason for this holiday is not the need for a winter holiday.  The reason this is a special time of family and friends is not because people everywhere decided we needed a day to come together.  The reason all this started was to remember the birth of Jesus.

If you do not believe in Jesus and still celebrate, thank you for the unknown honor you bestow on the one who is called “Emmanuel” which means, “God with us”.

I have time to wish you well because I am up, the tree in on, I have filled my wife’s stocking, the doll representing the baby Jesus is in our homemade manger and everyone else is still asleep.

Blessings.

Comments are welcome. Feel free to agree or disagree but keep it clean, courteous and short. I heard some shorthand on a podcast: TLDR, Too long, didn't read.
