I can’t help it, I read labels and directions. Usually it is a waste of time. Occasionally I find something that is important to know. Other times I get a laugh.
My daughter sent me some gadgets that she picked up in a store in Japan. The label is in Japanese and English. On the back, under “Notice”, I was given this warning. “Please do not bring close to the fire. There is a fear of modification.” I would think so.
On another it explained the purpose of the object, “Small mesh case with zipper and erastic wristband.” At least they got “wristband” right. The stereotype was by the stereotyped.

I'll always remember the Chinese-printed instructions to put the "happy" nut on the bolt and tighten. I must have spent a half-hour trying to figure out which one was the happy one; they all looked the same to me.
