The Daily Signal had an article in the side bar about the struggle between Ukraine and Russia. It reminded me of the way in which the Communists and Fascists fought a proxy war in Spain before World War II broke out.
In case you missed it, World War II have an opening act in Spain as the Communists and the Fascists fought for control of the country. It was brutal and bloody. Recruits came from all over the world to fight for one side or the other. Nations experimented with equipment and tactics. In the end the Fascists won and Franco came to power. He lasted for decades until his death in 1975.
Is Ukraine a place where the forces of east and west are meeting to flex their muscles and beat their chests? I know Russia is involved. I don’t know how much we have contributed.
