Opus 2017-309: Headlines: The Left Coast Strikes Again

I now have another reason to be glad I am out of the People’s Republik of Kalifornia.  In a link on The Daily Gouge I was taken to an article in the LA Times stating that the voting is over, part of a California freeway will be named after Barak Obama.  Trust me, it is in the Times but I don’t want to give the dignity of a link.  I forgot to check before I clicked.

The section mentioned was one that I would have been forced to drive over on a regular basis.  What about my feelings?  Will they post trigger warnings?  They say the signs will only cost a few thousand dollars and be paid for from private funds but what about the cost of constructing safe spaces along the route.  The only reason I can see for this choice is that it goes by the Eagle Rock dump.  It would have been interesting if they had chosen 118 which goes by the Reagan Library or the one going by the Nixon library.

It is still undecided if the concern over white privilege will bar the road to citizen’s of European extraction.

The article said he lived in Pasadena while attending the expensive, exclusive Occidental College.  Interesting.  I worked in Pasadena for 30 years and I never heard that before.  The city brags about Jackie Robinson who actually accomplished something.  I wonder why they never mentioned President Obama.
