We finally arrived in town expecting to spend a few days in a hotel before our new home was ready for us to unload the truck. It was not to be.
We drove the truck up the hill to our house aware that I might not be able to turn around. We decided to leave it on the street instead of trying to get up the driveway. We already had a car waiting for us and we were going to take it back to the motel before we unloaded the next day. We took a quick look inside the house and realized it wasn’t going to happen that way.
So, we started looking for a place to spend a few days. It is now a week and a half later and we are still not sure when things will be finished. It gets better. That night my wife started having pains, we went to the emergency room and found out that she had gall stones. Now we are looking at two surgeries and don’t even know when we will have a place to live.
But we are in Texas with a whole new world to explore.
To be continued...

Wow! What a way to start a new life. I hope your wife is taken care of promptly, so she can feel better, and the rest of the move goes smoothly. What larger town are you near?
ReplyDeleteWe are in the San Antonio area. We have been blessed with good insurance which will last for another few months, then we begin the maze of Medicare. The insurance is one of the benefits that all of us lined up at the public trough have experienced.
DeleteGrace and peace.
BTW, I said another prayer for you both. You don't need to post this.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Gorges. Every bit helps, as you know.
