Opus 2016-339: The Republic Survives

I am always amazed at how well our election process actually works.  We have some real issues and over the course of our history all political parties have had their hand in manipulating the vote.  In spite of that we have had no meltdowns.

Twice in my attention span the Democrats have made a big deal about recounts, implying that the Republicans cheated.  After the fake-news people have brainwashed the mush heads enough and the recount has begun, the issue disappears from the headlines.  Why?  Because when the votes are recounted the Republicans tend to gain ground, not lose it.

We saw that happen in the Bush Florida recounts.  We just saw it happen in the current spate of recounts.  We also saw this happening in the electoral college.  Hillary had more defect than Trump.

We need to fix what is broken.  We need voter ID.  We need proof of citizenship.  We need a paper trail instead of hacked computers.  We nee a lot of things but the good news is that the republic is still on its feet and moving forward.
