Opus 2015-469: Second Verses: Sin and Salvation

Okay, this is in the third verse of “O Little Town of Bethlehem”.
How silently, how silently The wondrous Gift is giv’n!
So God imparts to human hearts The blessings of His heav’n.
No ear may hear His coming; But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive Him still,
The dear Christ enters in.
You can’t sing real Christmas carols without being reminded that you are a sinner in need of a savior.  It you are ready, so is He.  Of course if you don’t believe in sin this is just a Santa Claus moment for you:  You put up the pictures but don’t really believe.

Merry Christmas.

  1. I don't truly believe that we should be celebrating Christmas, but there certainly has been some beautiful music, poetry and literature written because of the Cause.

  2. I guess we could move the family activities to Thanksgiving or New Years and the music would still be around.

    Grace and peace.
