We like to criticize the younger generations for their addiction to electronics and social media. It is an infection that has spread like yawning. As I sit and write this morning I have three ladies in my field of vision. They are definitely not young. They came together, ordered together, sit together and I can hear their voices working. Yet all three are staring at their smart phones as they speak.
Are they watching the same video and discussing it as they watch? Are they texting a fourth person who could not make it? Are they doing their banking on line? I have no clue. I don’t see how they can be building relationships.
But what do I know? I still think applause is out of place at weddings and eye contact is part of communication. I am wondering if smart phones make dumb people.

Yeah, I was raised not to clap in church. Now if you don't they think you're a stick in the mud. Of course, the trees of the field may clap their hands, but that's to praise the Lord, not the singer.
ReplyDeleteSorry to take so long getting back to you.
DeleteAnd what is wrong with being a stick in the mud? It is better than being a sheep in the slaughter house.
Grace and peace.
