Opus 2013-338: Public or Private?

I think that President Obama should talk to the people at See’s Candy.

We are all aware of the circus that the Affordable Care Act website has become.  I am blessed that I have not yet been forced to access it.  Yet.  I think the day will come when we will all be thrown under the bus that we will also have to pay for.  Remember that a mandate is not based on consent.  I wish he would consult with the people who designed the See’s Candy website before it is too late.

Assuming it is not already too late.

I went on line to order a box of candy for a sick friend.  I was able to pick individual pieces to be packed in a unique mix just for me.  I had total flexibility.  It is awesome.  When I processed the order and was thinking about how to print out the receipt my cell phone gave that cute little chirp that said it had received an e-mail.  My suspicions were confirmed when I checked it out.  See’s Candy had sent me an acknowledging e-mail before I had even exited the site.  That is free enterprise at work.  They must produce to survive.

You may not have heard of See’s Candy.  It is expensive, but so is a mistake in health care.  The problem is that we will be required to conform to the government standard.  See’s needs to deliver.  It cannot send the IRS to our bank accounts to deduct money if we don’t order enough candy.

The president wants someone to help him fix the system?  I doubt it.  If he did he would call the people at See’s.
