Opus 2012-14, Simple Pleasures

I was sitting in church and we were asked to stand.  I watched one guy who has twenty years on me as he struggled upright.  He made it.  At one point I was a doubter, but he persisted.

Have you ever stopped to be thankful for all the things that are going right in your body.  It hit me the other day at work:  I had just gone down stairs and back up without touching the rail.  To you that may be a “So what?” moment, but for some of us that is an awesome accomplishment.

So think about the people around you and the daily moment by moment struggles they have.  Can you feed yourself?  Are you still able to work?  Can you enjoy a wide variety of foods?  Are you able to hear the birds?

Sure we have our problems.  So does everyone else.  I plan to rejoice in the blessings I have and pray for those who struggle with things I have a hard time understanding.

  1. I USED to take a lot of things for granted. Not so much anymore.

  2. I don't know if it is wisdom or just old age. I have a growing awareness of my blessings.

    Grace and Peace.
