Opus 2021-167: Odd Odds

For 70+ years I have been living around the common cold.  It is caused by a virus that is the same family as the new (novel) China virus.  The common wisdom has always been that we have nothing that will cure a viral attack.  All you can do it make it easier for you body to develop its defenses.  Now I am supposed to believe that in 6 months we have developed three cures for a virus.  Have we gained that much in science during the age of global warming settled science and boys-can-become-girls settled science?  Or is it just the gullibility that has changed?

Pardon me while I try to suspend my disbelief.... Nope.  Didn’t work.

I don’t think anything has changed in science.  It is still as politically motivated as all of the nonsense in the Green New Deal.  There is a reason why the development of new medicines takes so long and demands rigorous testing over extended periods of time.  Think Thalidomide.  If you have no knowledge check out this article as Helix.  There is also a reason why some treatments should be given the fast track.  Think HIV with almost 100% mortality rate as opposed to the China virus with survival rates almost that high.  There is a reason why some medications with a long track record and known side effects are approved for the discerning and careful prescription of doctors.  Think Hydroxychloroquine.  It was handed out like candy in Vietnam for prevention of malaria.  

Am I planning on taking one of the shots?  No.  I am planning on not taking them.  I have more confidence in my immune system to deal with a virus which the vast number of people shake off than I do with two “vaccines” that are really genetic modification with no track record and one actual vaccine with no real testing period.  So far my immune system is batting 1000.
