School is coming to an end for the year and one of the questions I keep getting is, “Are you going to miss me?” My typical responses take two directions. First, I will ask are they going somewhere. Second, I will point out that I am not throwing anything.
Will I miss them? Some I will miss like a headache that goes away. Some I will miss like I miss someone who never reads my blog again. A few have wormed their way into my heart.
The missing will not really start though until next year. It is like when my wife goes out of town. If she is only gone for a week all I notice is that I need to do the laundry. As the time extends the absence grows. When the day comes that one of us dies, it will leave a real and permanent hole.
Will I miss you? Sure, but probably not until next August.

Sounds good for me.
ReplyDeleteLike I said, some are heart-worms.

You may not miss some of them until you discover that the next crop is WORSE! lol
ReplyDeleteYou could have at least waited until August to remind me of that. Actually, now is probably better so I can get used to the idea.
